On the road to Austin there’s a little town
Just a couple houses mostly empty now
You could blink and miss it but I hope you won’t
If you took me with you I’d be goin’ home

Puttin’ down roots or spreadin’ out wings
There’s an up and a downside to everything
Offerin’ you a mystery to get lost in
Little slice of history on the road to Austin

At the edge of Main Street there’s a five and dime
Steppin’ cross the threshold will take you back in time
Maybe you got someplace just like this so you understand
Somethin’ ’bout the air there made me who I am

I can’t say the exit number we never used to have ‘em
They changed the roads a couple years ago seems like that always happens
Anyway it’s worth the trip close as you already are
Swing a right by the Chevron sign and you’re in my backyard
