Once when I was young these eyes believed no single sight
More stunning than a sail swaying in the blue
Bless my younger heart which knew not what it didn’t know

Let nobody claim a flower is not beautiful
May none debate the worth of petals catching dew
Yet should somebody say its merit is unparalleled
At once it would be plain they never met you

Never saw the sunlight shining in your hair
Heard the sound of laughter from your lips
Tasted all the ways you flavor every day
Surrendered to your touch upon their skin

Sweet the falling rain refreshing on a summer night
August and July on this rely it’s true
But any who proclaim the lightning is the brightest part
Can’t be held to blame they just never met you

Never saw the sunlight shining in your hair
Heard the sound of laughter from your lips
Tasted all the ways you flavor every day
Surrendered to your touch upon their skin
