Deep into winter the days get so short
The minutes slip by like shooting stars
Ain’t time for wastin’ it’s like we’re always racin’
To reach the finish line is hard

Been turnin’ screws and burning holes in my shoes
All while the clock is running out
So before the sun sets don’t let me forget
There’s one thing I can’t live without

Well I can’t go fishing ‘til I clean out the garage
Or buy a boat until next year
And I can’t hit Vegas bet it all at the Mirage
Or even try their fancy beer

But no matter what I do or don’t get around to
Baby I’ll make time for you

Got lots of toys from back when I was a boy
That won’t see the light of day again
And folks I’d avoid if I had half a choice
Of how my busy days are spent

Ain’t got the freedom to dance the night away
Gotta’ mow the lawn and pay the rent
Don’t get me wrong I know I’ve got it made
Let me say it once again
