Not your average summer almost stole the show

Put up a fight like a burning cannonball
Out of sight outta’ mind and off the wall
Kill the lights get a grip and start to fall

Only leaves are leaving branches overhead
Every robin robbing singing the unsaid
Along the rainy river silent as the dawn
You were like a zephyr blackest of the swans

Darkest just before striking thunder
Harmless pinafore but filled with wonder
