If I Didn’t Know You At All
(back) (listen / download)
Must be ten thousand memories in that chair
Up and down those seven flights of stairs
City out the window changing with the times
Is it hard to leave it all behind
Break room smells like Chik-Fil-A and coffee
Your big old laugh always filled the office
Puttin’ out fires, savin’ lives, if those weren’t your intentions
There’s a couple things I’d wanna’ mention
I’d say get some hard earned rest
Start to care a little less
Kick those Oxfords off grab the Cuervo and the salt
Grab your Coppertone and cruise
Yeah that’s what I would tell you
If I didn’t know you at all
Don’t be fooled by all of this confetti
Everybody here misses you already
Brenda, Campbell, Stephen, Rich and Kevin, Josh and Ben
And me of course, tryin’ this again
I’d say empty out that desk
Party more and worry less
Kick those Stacy’s off grab the Triple Sec and salt
Pop your Ray Bans on and groove
Yeah that’s what I would tell you
If I didn’t know you at all
I know you’ll have so much fun
Soak up a lotta’ sun
Fly away some place you’ve never been
You deserve this all so much
But I hope you’ll keep in touch
And I’m glad to say that you’re my friend
