Footsteps gettin’ slow
Eyelids hangin’ low
Runnin’ outta’ juice
Day is all but gone
Night is lookin’ long
Words all slapdash loose

But I can’t quit now

Face a greasy mess
Tore up more or less
Fadin’ out to nothin’
Lookin’ like a clown
Smile so upside down
I may not recover
